Title

Comparative Study of Holly Jackson's ''A Good Girl's Guide to Murder'' and Its Netflix Adaptation

Abstract

Holly Jackson's A Good Girl's Guide to Murder, a young adult mystery novel, has captivated readers with its compelling narrative and complex characters. First published in 2019, the novel follows Pippa "Pip" Fitz-Amobi as she investigates a closed murder case in her hometown. In 2024, the story was adapted into a Netflix series, directed by Poppy Cogan, with Emma Myers portraying Pip. This research paper explores the differences and similarities between the novel and the Netflix adaptation, focusing on character portrayals, narrative structure, thematic representations, and the challenges of translating the book to screen.
