Abstract
Digas Lake is situated near Kudal in the Sindhudurg district of Maharashtra, India. A study was conducted to analyze the physicochemical parameters of the lake water. Parameters such as temperature, pH, total dissolved solids, dissolved oxygen, dissolved carbon dioxide, turbidity, chloride, calcium, hardness, magnesium, alkalinity, acidity, inorganic phosphate, iron, and nitrate were measured during the monsoon and post-monsoon periods. During the monsoon, the values observed were: temperature 25°C, pH 6.37, TDS 51.61 mg/L, dissolved oxygen 6.32 mg/L, dissolved carbon dioxide 1.97 mg/L, turbidity 4.1 NTU, chloride 1.40 mg/L, calcium 4.6 mg/L, hardness 10 mg/L, magnesium 1.90 mg/L, alkalinity 4.9 mg/L, acidity AB, inorganic phosphate 0.031 mg/L, iron AB, and nitrate 1.22 mg/L. During the post-monsoon period, the observed values were: temperature 27°C, pH 7.12, TDS 112.90 mg/L, dissolved oxygen 7.63 mg/L, dissolved carbon dioxide 1.97 mg/L, turbidity 7.32 NTU, chloride 2.82 mg/L, calcium 7.20 mg/L, hardness 35 mg/L, magnesium 4.83 mg/L, alkalinity 4.9 mg/L, acidity AB, inorganic phosphate 0.042 mg/L, iron AB, and nitrate 4.9 mg/L.
