Title

Review on Controversial Drug: Shankpushpi

Abstract

Ayurveda system of medicine provides a vast range of drugs for a number of diseases without side effects. Shankhpushpi is an Ayurvedic drug used for its action on the central nervous system, especially for boosting memory and improving intellect. Shankhpushpi is a controversial drug also known as “Sandigdha dravays” is a term used for medicinal plants having various sources. five different plants are considered as shankhpushpi in different books and in throughout India. a. This comprehensive review provides the latest information on five plants (considered as Shankhpushpi) with regards to their pharmacological and phytochemical findings.
