Title

The conceptual study of shastra by shushruta

Abstract

Ayurveda is an ancient medical science, and Surgery is one of Ayurveda’s oldest modalities of the medical system; it is believed that ancient Indian scientists explored essential knowledge of Shastrakarma. The Sushruta Samhita, attributed to the ancient Indian physician Sushruta, is one of the foundational texts of Ayurveda, particularly in the field of surgery. This ancient treatise not only outlines various surgical procedures but also provides detailed descriptions of the instruments used in these practices. This review article explores the surgical instruments detailed in the Sushruta Samhita, highlighting their significance, design, and relevance in modern surgical practice.
