Title

Influence of Yoga Exercise & Naturopathy Treatment on Patients of Diabetes Mellitus in Mahendergarh District, Haryana, India.

Abstract

Diabetes mellitus, a chronic metabolic disorder characterized by high blood glucose levels, has become a growing concern in both rural and urban India. In Mahendergarh district, Haryana, where healthcare infrastructure is limited, the integration of traditional healing methods such as yoga and naturopathy offers a cost-effective, holistic approach to managing diabetes. This study aims to explore the combined effects of yoga exercise and naturopathy treatment on patients with type 2 diabetes in the region. Yoga, which includes physical postures (asanas), breathing techniques (pranayama), and meditation, has been found to improve insulin sensitivity, regulate blood sugar levels, and reduce stress—a significant factor in diabetes management. Specific yoga postures like Vajrasana, Dhanurasana, and Surya Namaskar are particularly effective in stimulating pancreatic function and improving metabolism. Naturopathy, which focuses on the body’s natural healing processes, complements yoga by promoting a balanced diet, detoxification therapies, and the use of herbal remedies such as bitter gourd and fenugreek seeds. These natural interventions aid in lowering blood glucose levels and enhancing digestive and pancreatic health. Results from wellness centres and health camps in Mahendergarh indicate that patients who adopt this combined approach show significant improvements in blood glucose control, reduced dependency on allopathic medications, and enhanced overall well-being. The integration of yoga and naturopathy has proven to be a sustainable and accessible solution for diabetes management in rural settings, encouraging lifestyle changes that prevent complications and improve the quality of life for diabetic patients.
