This paper explores the critical need to strengthen victim protection laws in India to ensure the safety, dignity, and well-being of survivors of rape. Despite progressive legal reforms, survivors often face significant barriers, including societal stigma, lack of privacy, and threats from perpetrators. This research highlights gaps in current victim protection measures and suggests policy changes based on international best practices. Emphasis is placed on the need for robust witness protection programs, privacy safeguards, trauma-informed care, and the proper implementation of existing legal provisions. The paper also advocates for integrating gender-sensitive approaches in law enforcement and judicial processes to better support survivors and ensure justice. By examining both Indian and international case studies, this research offers actionable recommendations for creating a more secure and respectful environment for rape survivors.
