Title

Synthesis and Characterization of Barium Titanate (BaTiO3) for Dielectric Applications

Abstract

This study utilized the sol-gel method to successfully synthesize barium titanate (BaTiO₃) as a dielectric material. X-ray diffraction (XRD), Scanning electron microscope (SEM), and LCR meter techniques were also utilized to analyze the synthesized material's mechanisms and measure its dielectric properties. The structure of the material was characterized using X-ray diffraction patterns (XRD) that were indicated in tetragonal phases, with distinct peaks associated with the (111) and (110) planes which were characteristic of nanocrystalline. Regarding nanoparticle dimensions, SEM images illustrated dimensions of 30-40 nanometers of particles. Intriguingly, dielectric constant measurements were 1000 to 2000 at room temperature, demonstrating that the material is appropriate for high-performance dielectric. It has been noted that barium titanate (BaTiO₃) exhibits a high dielectric constant and nanoscale structure making it ideal for sensor applications.
