Title

ACHIEVEMENT IN ENGLISH IN RELATION TO PARENTAL ENCOURAGEMENT OF HIGHER SECONDARY STUDENTS

Abstract

This study aims to discover the Achievement in English in Relation to Parental Encouragement of Higher Secondary Students. This study was conducted on 770 Higher Secondary Students in Cuddalore district of Tamilnadu State in India. The Normative survey method has been followed and simple random sampling has been used in administration of the research tools. Achievement in English (2023) Constructed and Validated by the Investigator and Parental Encouragement Scale (1996) developed by Pillai and Usha and Revalidated by the Investigator. Finding revealed that the Achievement in English is average and also Parental Encouragement is average. This study also found that there is significant difference in the Achievement in English of Higher Secondary Students in respect of Gender and Medium of Study, there is significant difference in the Parental Encouragement of Higher Secondary Students in respect of Gender and Medium of Study, there is significant and positive relationship between Achievement in English and Parental Encouragement of Higher Secondary Students.
