Title

SYNTHESIS AND PHOTOLUMINESCENCE STUDIES ON Ce3+ DOPE CdSe/POLYSTYRENE NANOCOMPOSITES

Abstract

In the present work ,the thin films of Ce3+ doped CdSe/Polystyrene nanocomposites prepared by chemical route method with different concentration of Ce3+. CdSe are widely studied due to it’s high luminescence yield. Cerium a rare-earth element enhance the optical properties of the samples. Polystyrene was used as a host matrix. Different concentration of cerium doped in these nanocomposites films and then these films characterized by X-ray diffraction(XRD), Scanning Electron Microscopy(SEM) find crystalline size of about 10nm. Photo-luminescence study find sharp emission peak at 300nm and 594nm of orange colour found for all samples is caused by Ce3+ transitions from 4f→5d whereas excitation wavelength was 295 nm.A high intense peak found in 0.2mole% of Ce3+ concentration of sample.
