Title

Duplication of Gallbladder: A Case Report

Abstract

Duplication of gallbladder, also known as bilobed gallbladder, is a rare congenital anomaly characterized by the presence of two separate lobes of the gallbladder, each with its own cystic duct. This condition can present with symptoms similar to those of cholelithiasis, but may also be asymptomatic. We report a case of duplicated gallbladder with two cystic ducts, highlighting the points of accurate diagnosis and surgical intervention. A case of 75 yr old male presented with complaints of pain in right hypochondrium, icterus and generalized weakness. MRCP showed obstructive calculus in terminal CBD, Duplication of gallbladder is seen with both entities dilated s/o acute calculous cholecystitis. ERCP performed, CBD stone removal done. Cholangiogram showed dilated CBD with small filling defect. Further symptoms were managed by laparoscopic cholecystectomy. Patient discharged on 4th day and advised for follow-up. Thorough preoperative evaluation and planning are essential to prevent complications and to ensure successful surgical outcomes
