This study addresses the failure of a fuel tank strap during endurance testing, attributed to excessive vibration, particularly at the rear of the fuel tank. The original strap design featured a slot, which led to stress concentration and excessive movement, ultimately causing the strap to fail. To mitigate this issue, a design modification was implemented, replacing the slot with a hole. This modification aims to reduce stress concentration by providing a more uniform distribution of forces and minimizing unwanted movement of the strap. The improved design enhances the durability and reliability of the fuel tank strap, ensuring better performance under high-vibration conditions. By eliminating the stress concentrators and securing the strap more firmly, the revised design significantly lowers the risk of failure, contributing to the overall safety and longevity of the fuel tank system.
