Title

Protective Effects of Poly Herbal Compound Bronco-T on male wistar Rats exposed to Formaldehyde-Induced Oxidative Stress in kidney tissues of Rats

Abstract

This research is mainly investigated possible effects on damage to rat kidneys induced by formaldehyde and protective role of poly herbal compound Bronco-T using biochemical characteristics. Male wistar rats were divided into five groups: Group-I served as control and the other 4 groups such as II, III, IV and V are considered as experimental. The control and treatment rats are maintained for 21 days of experimental period. Experimental rats are exposed to 40 % formaldehyde for 1 h and treated with Bronco-T and salbutamol. In the present investigation, the formaldehyde exposed rats a series of free radical chain reactions were grimly provoked, the evaluation of antioxidant enzymes (SOD, CAT, GR), other enzymes oxidative enzymes (SDH, LDH, G-6-PDH) and renal biomarkers (uric acid, creatinine and urea) were measured. A significant imbalance between oxidation and anti-oxidation status was evident, indicating a pronounced state of oxidative stress in kidney tissue. Oral administration of Bronco-T showed a beneficial effect by restoring the kidney tissue of rats exposed to formaldehyde to a healthier redox state, impacting both antioxidant and oxidative properties positively. This suggests that Bronco-T treatment could be a viable solution for occupational diseases associated with formaldehyde exposure. The assessment of kidney function involved measuring uric acid, creatinine, and urea levels, while redox imbalance was evaluated through catalase and superoxide dismutase activity and glutathione reductase as well as oxidative damage.
