Title

Learning Functional Communication through Multimedia Approach among children with Intellectual Disability at Primary level

Abstract

Present study was conducted to see the influence of Multimedia on Learning Functional communication among children with Intellectual Disability at Primary level”. A total five students with mild intellectual disability between the age group of 7 to 11 year attending primary class at Special school was selected as a sample for the study. Participants were taught communication skills through multimedia approach (animated video). Intervention was given for 20 sessions at 30 minutes and after four sessions evaluation had done. After collecting the data, it was statistically analyzed using paired t-test to find out the significance on functional communication skills before and after intervention. Results showed that persons with intellectual disability made substantial improvements in their communication skills as a result of multimedia approach, the statistical results revealed the multimedia approach is effective and showed positive impact on is a communication skill.
