Respiratory disorder are on the rise in modern India and Indian Subcontinent. Among these, Acute Bronchitis, Chronic Bronchitis, Rhinitis, Pharyngitis, Bronchial asthma, Bronchiectasis, Emphysema, Pulmonary tuberculosis, Pneumonia, Occupational Lung disorders like Asbestosis, Silicosis, Fungal infection of the lungs and malignant disorders of lung are commonly seen in general practice. In Bronchiectasis, the bronchioles are widened permanently leading to repeated infection and clinical features like cough, expectoration, dyspnoea and weakness. On physical examination the chest is usually barrel shaped or cylindrical. On chest x-ray examination, there will be honey comb(Beehive) like shadow is seen. Ayurveda Medicine has better effect on this disease. In Ayurveda Ushna, Mala vatanulomana and Kapha vatahara Aushadhis and food items are given. By Ayurveda medicine, the quality of life, Body strength and immunity are seen increased after the treatment. In this paper, the role of Ayurveda medicine in the management of Bronchiectasis is discussed.
