DEPRESSION AMONG PRIMIGRAVIDA MOTHERS AND MULTIGRAVIDA MOTHERS DURING POSTPARTUM PERIOD
Abstract
Depression during the postpartum period is a type of depression resembling to major depressive disorder. It is a significant mental health concern affecting the mothers after giving birth to a new one. The physical and mental health of a women is disturbed due to uncontrollable changes happening. The present study was conducted on 30 primigravida mothers and 30 multigravida mothers to assess the prevalence of postpartum depression among them. The results indicate that multigravida mothers have higher level of depression as compared to primigravida mothers.
