Title

TEACHING AND LEARNING STRATEGIES OF ENGLISH FOR VISUALLY CHALLENGED STUDENTS A SYSTEMATIC LITERATURE REVIEW ANALYSIS

Abstract

A world has become global village, we have to develop every child in the spirit of compete at international level , to achieve this goal they need media of English language learning. Normal children can learn English language easily but in the case of visually impaired students teacher has to use various strategies and approach to teach English. English as a foreign language and second language it is not easy job to teach visually impaired students but it is not a impossible task also.Teacher must be use proper strategies in teaching English to visually impaired students. The teacher has to be keep in mind that the visually impaired students are always slower than the non- handicapped student. There were some challenges in teaching English to visually impaired students, attitudinal barrier, lack of vocabulary, problem of pronunciation, difficulties in reading comprehension, they need longer time to learn compare to normal students. They could not learn independently. So overcome this problems teacher can use various strategies like vocabulary teaching, guided instruction, meta-cognition instruction, kin-aesthetic learning style, memory based activity, role play, using social media, grammar translation method, audio lingual equipped with computer applications, game strategy,paper strategy, e-text strategy (NVDA, JAWS), etc. The above mentioned strategies helped the visually impaired students teach English easily .This systematic review analysis focuses on impact of various English teaching strategies on visually impaired students English learning. This article revealed that objective used, the methodology adopted, and the result of the study based on the English teaching strategies on visually impaired students. Researcher conducted a systematic review analysis of articles published between the period 2014 -2023.This review article includes various databases using five steps to get the information .In total 18 Reports met the selection criteria the result of this study can be concluded on previous and recent research work that various strategies are available to teach English visually impaired students Which made them English learning become easy and new techniques and strategies had the strongest association with academic achievement of visually impaired students and made English learning become so easy.
