This economic analysis focuses on public expenditure on health in the Indian state of Karnataka. The study uses a comprehensive framework to examine the various dimensions of health expenditure, including inputs, outputs, outcomes, and impact. The study finds that while public expenditure on health in Karnataka has increased over the years, there are still significant gaps in the availability and quality of healthcare services in the state. The analysis also highlights the need for a more strategic and efficient allocation of resources to address these gaps and improve health outcomes. Finally, the study provides policy recommendations for improving the effectiveness of public expenditure on health in Karnataka, including strengthening primary healthcare systems, increasing investments in human resources for health, and leveraging technology to improve healthcare delivery.
