Title

TO ASSESS THE KNOWLEDGE REGARDING DENGUE FEVER AMONG PEOPLE RESIDING IN SELECTED RURAL AREAS OF MUKKA, SURATHKAL, MANGALORE DISTRICT

Abstract

Dengue fever, a mosquito-borne viral disease, has emerged as a significant public health concern globally. With increasing incidence and prevalence, dengue fever poses a substantial threat to human health, particularly in tropical and subtropical regions. This comprehensive review aims to provide an in-depth analysis of prevention and management strategies for dengue fever.The review highlights the importance of preventive measures, including wearing protective clothing, using mosquito repellents, and controlling mosquito breeding sites. The role of community participation, public awareness, and education in preventing dengue fever is also emphasized. Additionally, the review discusses treatment options, including fluid replacement, oral rehydration therapy, and intravenous therapy.The study also examines the epidemiology of dengue fever, including its transmission, symptoms, and diagnosis. The review further explores the economic, social, and environmental factors contributing to the spread of dengue fever.The findings of this review suggest that a multi-faceted approach, incorporating preventive measures, community participation, and effective treatment options, is essential for controlling and managing dengue fever. The study provides recommendations for policymakers, healthcare professionals, and the general public to prevent and manage dengue fever.Overall, this comprehensive review aims to contribute to the existing body of knowledge on dengue fever, providing valuable insights for stakeholders to develop effective strategies for preventing and managing this debilitating disease.
