Students in remote villages face many hardships and hurdles in their way to the fulfillment of academic achievement. Broken home is one of them. Effects of broken home has loomed large its ugly head not only in remote villages but also in urban areas and in cities also. But the students in cities have the access to many stools to cope up with the hardships. Whereas the students in remote villages in primary schools in West Bengal find no way out but to suffer. In West Bengal the students in primary schools are the most seen victims of broken home as they get no ray of light in their school and in the society as well. Divorce of parents or arrogant behavior of father or quarrel in the family or poor inconsistent routine is enough to bring ravages in the life of children particularly at their primary school going age. They are prone to suffer from poor educational outcome, dropouts, maladjustment in peer group and feelings of insecurity in school environment.
