This study explores the challenges and strengths of the centralized B.Ed. (two-year) admission process in Maharashtra, managed by the CET cell under the state's regulatory authorities. A survey approach was adopted, targeting 27 teacher educators involved in admissions and 293 prospective B.Ed. students. Key issues identified include students’ lack of familiarity with required documents, selecting proper categories, converting CGPA to percentages, and correctly calculating graduation marks. Despite the CET cell's digital verification, discrepancies arise during physical document verification, sometimes resulting in conflicts. Additionally, delays in admission rounds disrupt academic schedules, causing stress among students and parents. The study underscores the need for Admission Facilitation Centers and clear, accessible guidance—such as video tutorials and proactive support from B.Ed. colleges. Recommendations aim to streamline the admission process and foster a smoother, student-friendly experience.
