Title

ENHANCING THE RELIABILITY OF AUTOMOTIVE ENGINE COOLING SYSTEM BY ELIMINATING RADIATOR FAN FAILURE

Abstract

This study examines the construction, application & frequent failures observed in Radiator fan failure issue in Automobiles, leading to engine overheating. The research investigates the problem's prevalence, with an estimated 2800 pan India occurrences typically manifesting after 10,000 kilometers of use. The symptoms of radiator fan malfunction include but are not limited to engine overheating, abnormal noise, ineffective cooling despite normal coolant levels and reduced Air-Cooling efficiency. Holistic analysis of the observed failure modes has been investigated by deploying quality tools for analysis. The study aims to serve as ready reckoner for failure modes, root causes & the corresponding remedial solutions available to overcome the part failure & enhance the reliability of the Radiator Fan contributing to improved vehicle reliability and cooling system design.
