The present study undertaken to find out the educational challenges faced by the Transgender students in our society. Transgender refers to individuals whose gender identity or expression differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. Social discrimination, social depression, suicidal tendencies, social stigma,mental depression, fear and shame are some of the major problems that this community has to face and once their gender status becomes known, they are unable to lead a respectable life. In this study the data collected from the Transgender students through interview schedule. Qualitative and qualitative data analysis used for this study. After the analysis of data it is clear that most of the Transgender students dropped out from their education in the high school level itself.Lack of proper education is the main barrier for their better life. Education is the final solution for all the problems faced by the Transgender community.Kerala is the first state in India to set up Policy for Transgenders. According to this policy,if the government,policy makers,education department and the Society think together,transgender students can reach their highest standard of living.
