Every living organism, (from humans to microscopic creatures), depends on the environment for survival, as all elements within it are interconnected. Any disruption to these elements adversely affects life. Meanwhile, construction activities serve as indicators of development in any region. In Bangladesh and other developing countries, the construction industry is rapidly expanding due to increasing demand for housing, transportation, communication networks, urbanization, infrastructure development, and economic growth. However, this expansion has led to significant environmental challenges, including air and soil pollution, water contamination, waste management issues, and loss of biodiversity.This paper provides an engineering analysis of the environmental impacts of construction activities in Bangladesh and similar developing countries. By examining case studies, regulatory frameworks, and existing mitigation strategies, it outlines the current environmental challenges and proposes sustainable solutions to minimize the ecological footprint of the construction industry.
