In real-time scenarios, edge computing is transforming data processing and analysis, especially in the context of smart cities. This paper explores the critical role of edge computing in enhancing smart traffic light management systems. By leveraging localized processing, edge computing mitigates latency issues, reduces bandwidth consumption, and ensures system resilience. This study provides a detailed analysis of the benefits, challenges, and real-world implementations of edge computing in traffic light systems, highlighting its potential to improve urban traffic flow and reduce congestion.
