Citrus fruits, renowned for their high content of Vitamin C, sweetness and easily peelable skin, hold significant cultural and economic value, particularly in the Ramganj Mandi of Kota district of Rajasthan. A study on the seasonal incidence of insect pests affecting citrus orchards was conducted between August 2021 and February 2022 at Ramganj Mandi, Kota, Rajasthan, aimed at identifying potential threats to this valuable fruit crop. Through fixed plot surveys, it was observed that among the 32 recorded insect pests species, six were predominant in occurrence. Notably, the citrus leaf miner (Phyllocnistis citrella) and various hemipteran pests were frequently encountered, indicating potential challenges to citrus fruits cultivation. Conversely, the lemon butterfly (Papilio demoleus) and citrus trunk borer (a) were of lesser concern in terms of their incidence. The study expressed the seasonal dynamics of insect pests affecting citrus fruits, providing valuable insights for pest management strategies.
