Study: “A study to evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching program on knowledge regarding Cataract among general population in selected areas of Ahmedabad city.” Background: Cataracts, the leading cause of blindness worldwide, result from lens clouding due to aging, UV exposure, diabetes, and oxidative stress. While surgery is effective, accessibility challenges highlight the need for preventive and non-surgical treatments. This study explores cataract causes, risk factors, and innovative solutions, including pharmacological approaches and advanced surgical techniques, to improve outcomes and reduce the global burden of cataract-related vision impairment, particularly in underserved populations. Objectives: To evaluate the effectiveness of structured teaching programme on knowledge regarding Cataract among general population in selected areas of Ahmedabad City. Methodology: Quantitative research approach was used with pre-experimental (one group pre-test and post-test) research design. 60 Samples were selected by Non - probability convenience sampling technique and structured knowledge questionnaire was developed. Results: According to the findings, the mean post-test Knowledge score was significantly higher than the mean of pre-test knowledge score with mean difference of (4.57) the calculated “T” value (11.59) was greater than the tabulated ‘t’ value (2.00) at 0.05 level of significance therefore the null hypothesis H0 was rejected and research hypothesis H1 was accepted and it revealed that the structure teaching programme was effective in increase the knowledge of Cataract among general population in selected areas of Ahmedabad city. The findings also revealed that a significant association has been found in Habit. Hence, the research hypothesis H2 was accepted. Conclusion: Structured teaching program regarding Cataract was effective in improving knowledge regarding Cataract among general population in selected areas of Ahmedabad city.
