Characterized by their exceptional physicochemical properties- such as biocompatibility, adjustable size, and surface functionalization- AuNPs offer remarkable potential in optimizing antigen delivery, preserving vaccine stability, and amplifying immune responses. This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the role of gold nanoparticles in vaccine technology, delving into their underlying mechanisms, distinct advantages over traditional systems, and cutting-edge progress in both preclinical and clinical research. Additionally, it examines the challenges and prospective pathways for AuNP-based vaccines as a pivotal evolution in the field of immunotherapy.
