Title

Sustainable energy source invention and Chemistry of valuable by-product synthesis from Water Hyacinth

Abstract

Water hyacinth, an indigenous monocot aquatic plant of Brazil and Ecuador region of South America, is associated with the group of plants called lilies1. Its biological name is Eichhornia which has many species. It is commonly known as the floating/common water hyacinth. After collective plant it creates lot of waste near water bodies because of unawareness and lack of knowledge about various significant uses. We can convert this in beneficial or directly utilize this weed. Excessive growth of these weed can browbeat the growth as well as function of other aquatic plants and animals by decreasing dissolve oxygen. These cynical issues give reason to remove the plant. Which usually removed physically which costs a lot and even not affective. Water hyacinth has many good properties, which can be used as medicines, raw materials for biogas, bio fertilizers, alcohol production and directly utilized as feed for animals or fishes. E. crassipes is one of the most commonly grown weed which contains many elements as Nitrogen, Sulphur, Phosphorous and many more. Water hyacinth can also contain many compounds as alkaloids, flavonoids, phenols, carbohydrates, proteins, amino acids, tannins, terpenoids, saponins, and glycoside can be extracted by alcohol extraction methods. Biogas can be a substitute to traditional energy sources and water hyacinth has very good bio mass which can generate bio gas and bio fuel as well. This project will open a new door of success and helps in developing newer technologies for better living as well as for controlling pollutions
