Title

LIFE SATISFACTION OF PRIMARY SCHOOL TEACHERS OF KASHMIR ,INDIA

Abstract

Abstract. The objective of present study was to study the life-satisfaction of primary school teachers of Kashmir, India and examine life satisfaction differences of primary school teachers on the basis of gender, age and teaching experience. For this purpose, the researcher implemented a mixed-method design by conducting pilot qualitative survey with 400 participants in primary school settings in forty different schools of Kashmir. The researcher invited participants to complete the life satisfaction scale and school teachers stress and coping survey inventory in privacy. Life-Satisfaction Scale was developed by Mr. R.G. Alam and Dr. Ramji Srivastava and has been used to collect the data. This scale of measuring life satisfaction has 60 items related to six areas, viz., Health, Personal, Economic, Marital, Social and Job in this scale. The responses are to be given in Yes/No. Yes, responses indicated the satisfaction. The data collected were analysed using frequency counts, percentages, mean, mode, standard deviation to answer research questions while t-test , Z test, were deployed to test the hypothesis at 0.05 level of significance. The result of the study showed, there is significant difference in life-satisfaction of primary school teachers in terms of gender, age and experience
