Social Media has become an integral part of our lives and its impact on athlete’s mental health is a growing concern. Social media refers to online platforms or tools that allows users to create ,share and interact with content, information ,or other users in a virtual environment , Social networking sites are Face book, Twittwer, Linkdin, instagram etc. This study examines the effect of social media on athletes’ mental well being including the pressure to present a perfect online image, cyber bullying and the blurring of boundaries between personal and public life, The study also explores the ways in which social media can positively impact athletes’ mental health, such as providing a sense of community and connection with fans. The findings of this study suggest that social media can have both positive and negative effect s on athletes, mental health and sports organizations must be aware of these impacts in order to provide support and resources of athletes.
