Globalization, deregulation and technological improvement have resulted in the increase in (M & A) across the globe. In the today’s globalized economy (M & A) are being increasingly used by corporate world over to improve their competitiveness and performance through increased market share, product diversification, cost and risk reductions, resource mobilization and economies of scale among others. In India the concept of (M &A’s) was initiated by the government bodies. Corporate sector of India was restructured by financial organizations by adopting the M & A policies. This research aims to study the future prospects of worldwide M&A’s, and the role of Indian industries in global scenario. The present study tries to understand the extent of external deals made by India. The results reveals that Indian markets have witnessed burgeoning trend in mergers which may be due to business consolidation by large industrial houses, consolidation of business by multinationals operating in India, increasing competition against imports and acquisition activities. M&A’s have begun to gain momentum in India; there is plenty of examples of M&A provided in this research which proves that Indian industries have already entered into the M&A process of value creation.
