Mumbai, situated in a warm and humid climate zone, faces severe water management challenges exacerbated by rapid urbanization, population growth, and the impacts of climate change. Groundwater overuse has resulted in soil subsidence, degraded water quality, and heightened risks of seawater intrusion. This study proposes the implementation of Groundwater Recharge Systems (GRS) through infiltration wells, integrated with the current stormwater drain system, as a solution. This integration offers high efficiency and adaptability tailored to Mumbai's urban landscape. By utilizing existing infrastructure, such as stormwater drains, GRS integration becomes more feasible without necessitating extensive land allocation or complex technologies, thus making it suitable for urban contexts. Additionally, this approach can mitigate flooding issues by replenishing groundwater levels and reducing surface water runoff during heavy rainfall events. Through comprehensive examination, this research anticipates significant performance enhancements resilient to climatic shifts, emphasizing GRS's potential to foster urban resilience and environmental equilibrium in Mumbai's dynamic climatic conditions.
