Introduction: Hamsapadi, scientifically known as Adiantum lunulatum Burm.f. (synonym: A. philippense Linn), commonly referred to as the "Walking Maidenhair Fern," is widely cultivated as an ornamental plant. It is prevalent across India, typically thriving in wet, shaded environments and on moist mud walls during the monsoon season. It is used in bleeding diseases, burning sensation, erysipelas, epileptic fits, non-healing ulcers, dysentery, strangury and elephantiasis. The drug is economical and readily available. Materials and Methods: Drug was processed into Kwatha Choorna (coarse powder) and made into Kashaya form. An analytical study was then conducted following the guidelines outlined in the Ayurvedic Pharmacopoeia of India. Various physicochemical parameters of the freshly prepared Kashaya were analysed, including pH Analysis, Total Solids, Specific Gravity, Refractive Index, Viscosity, HPTLC were assessed. Observation and Results: The phytochemical analytical study proved its efficacy for external and internal application. Conclusion: This study helped standardise Hamsapadi Kashaya. It also helped to analyse this drug’s probable mode of action when apply externally and internally.
