Stress is so common in fast pacing lifestyle; which leads to several health morbidities. One among such is really prevalent among all age groups i.e. stress induced insomnia. It is due to drastic changes in living conditions such as prolonged work time, increased shift working, and various socio-psychological stresses leading to sleep loss which not only causes daytime sleepiness but also psychomotor impairment leading to neurological disorders. Recent studies have revealed some of the neural basis of stress inducing insomnia i.e. like if continuous and accumulating sleep debt is experienced in daily living then it could interfere with the functional regulation of the amygdala inducing its overreaction to negative emotional stimuli causing stress leading to insomnia, but instead of such prevalence there is not any effective treatment had being found in modern sciences so far for its cure as cycle goes on. As light to rescue here comes marma manipulation technique as it is known as “Mother of all healing therapies”. They are the points where our energy is concentrated in the form of a matrix of 107 which stimulate the function and responses of the body. These are the cardinal points deeply situated anatomically; which demolishes pain physically as well as mentally and revive us if manipulated correctly by therapeutically touching, massaging simply or with oils or pressurizing by techniques . One such special reference in Ayurveda ancient text is given to paada for linking it to head, eye and indirectly to neurology of sleep as its manipulation through various ways has anti stress and sleep inducing effect. “Paada” –is one of the body part i.e. foot where vital points - “Marma” namely wiz kshipra, talahridya, kurcha shira, kurcha are situated. Paada marma manipulation increases intensity of brain waves and decrease adrenaline, cortisone level so normalizes Neurotransmitters which regulate sleep i.e. serotonin and Norepinephrine neuropsychological induces sleep. The most important thing is that this therapy can be self-practiced daily anywhere and in any position. Hence convert our tough life into valuable one. Here in this article presenting one such case study showing effectiveness of paada marma manipulation
