To differentiate between good and bad action, decision or work is morality. In other words morality is the feeling of love, brotherhood, kindness, sympathy cooperation, justice, truth, non- violence etc. which make a human more superior then animal. The basis of morality is purity, honesty and truth, beauty goodness. Morality can be a body of standards or principles derived from a code of conduct from a particular philosophy, religion or culture or it can derive from a standard that a person believe should be universal. For child to make an ideal human being morality is mandatory but it can’t be taught suddenly or any stage without following other one. This is a process which start in childhood and may be remain till death. A children should be taught how to behave, develop the feeling of love for others, always speak truth whatever the situation is, be sympathetic to the people who needs it, be cooperative, always do justice to everyone, include non-violence in your life for forever A child should be grown up with these kind of morality since their childhood so they get highest achievement in their lives as moral development is one of the important dimension of child development. This paper study about the concept of morality and significance of moral development in children as it is clear that like other important dimension of development as physical, mental, emotional, language etc. moral development is also an important aspect of development. This paper also highlights one of the important theory of moral development given by Kohlberg.
