National Capital of Delhi has unique political identity with two power centers controlling its administration. Besides being the seat of central government, it also has a legislative assembly with an intriguing electoral history. This paper seeks to delve into historical background of Delhi and trace its political evolution in post-independence era. It also focuses on the shifting pattern of verdicts in various assembly elections held in Delhi and electoral preparations underway for the its upcoming assembly polls 2025. The paper argues that the approaching elections will be a keenly contested trilateral political battle whose outcome will reshape the political fortunes of major parties in fray and determine their political relevance in the capital.
