Title

Comparative Analysis of Braking Systems in High-Speed Vehicles: Disc and Electromagnetic Braking Systems

Abstract

Abstract: Braking systems are a fundamental safety component in high-speed vehicles, where performance under extreme conditions is critical. This paper compares two advanced braking systems: disc brakes, incorporating Carbon Nanotube (CNT) Reinforced Composites, and electromagnetic brakes, utilizing Aluminum-Graphene Nanocomposites. The study leverages ANSYS simulation software alongside experimental testing to evaluate the thermal stability, wear resistance, stress, strain, deformation, and mechanical strength of both systems. Our findings indicate that CNT Reinforced Composites exhibit superior thermal stability and resistance to deformation under high braking temperatures compared to traditional Carbon Ceramic materials. In the case of electromagnetic braking systems, Aluminum-Graphene Nanocomposites show significantly improved mechanical properties and reduced wear compared to Al 6061. This analysis suggests that these advanced materials provide substantial improvements in braking performance, presenting a promising avenue for enhancing the safety and efficiency of high-speed vehicle braking systems.
