Human need shelter on par with food and clothing. Since the dawn of time, people have struggle with the issue of where to live, in order to ensure security, productivity, social status, level of achievement and prosperity. A person’s social and psychological developments are greatly influenced by the home. Buying a home is seldom perceived as a smart investment for a future and involves huge financial commitment. Since a house loan is the greatest way for a person to achieve the goal of owning a home, the concept has grown favor in India. Growing nuclear family model has increased the need for more housing and in turn home loan. Availability of affordable to appealing home loan solution is crucial to the realization of the Indian goal of homeownership. So the study is undertaken to analyze the factors influencing choice of bank to avail home loan, satisfaction level among home loan borrowers and the problems faced by the borrowers in obtaining the home loan. The study found that most of the respondents opted fixed rate of interest, and satisfied with amount of loan sanctioned and felt lengthy documentation procedure is the problem in raising home loan.
