Pulpitis is a common dental condition characterized by inflammation of the dental pulp, often caused by bacterial infection, trauma, or deep caries. This review aimed to investigate the clinical and histopathological features of pulpitis and evaluate the effectiveness of current treatment modalities. The results showed that irreversible pulpitis was more prevalent than reversible pulpitis, with spontaneous pain and sensitivity to thermal stimuli being the most common symptoms. Understanding the clinical and histopathological features of pulpitis is crucial for developing effective treatment strategies, and this study provides valuable insights into the nature of this common dental condition, ultimately contributing to improved patient outcomes and enhanced oral health care. The presence of bacterial biofilms was more common in irreversible pulpitis than in reversible pulpitis. The treatment outcomes were significantly better in patients who received prompt treatment compared to those who received delayed treatment. These findings provide further insights into the complexities of pulpitis and emphasize the need for prompt diagnosis, effective treatment, and patient education to improve outcomes and promote oral health.
