Climate change has exacerbated the intensity and frequency of heat waves, cold waves, rainy days in India, leading to significant socio-economic and educational challenges. This study investigates the impact of prolonged school closures, particularly the introduction of an advanced summer vacation, extended winter vacation, online classes due to pollution, on the academic and overall health of Indian students. It examines how extreme heat affects cognitive functions, physical health, mental well-being, and the accessibility of education in urban and rural areas. Using a mixed-methods approach, including case studies, interview and secondary data analysis, the research highlights the vulnerability of students to climate change. It underscores the need for adaptive educational policies, robust infrastructure, and community health interventions to mitigate the adverse effects of climate change on young learners in India.
