ABSTRACT : Infertility is defined as the inability to conceive within one or more years of regular unprotected coitus. conception depends on the fertility potential of both male and female partner. The male is directly responsible in about 30-40%, the female in about 40-50% and both are responsible in about 10% of cases. The remaining 10% is unexplained, inspite of thorough investigations with modern technical know how. Chronic anovulation is the common cause of infertility associalted with Polycystic ovaries. This is a case report of an infertile couple who had not been able to conceive since 4 years of married life. The wife was diagnosed with PCOS. The objective of the present treatment included ayurvedic management ensuring regular menstrual cycle and ovulation and there by achieving healthy pregnancy and successful childbirth. Based on the parameters , this case was diagnosed as vandhyatwa due to nashtartava. Treatment plan included Basti chikitsa and Shamanaushadi. During the treatment period she lost 6 kg of weight and menstruation was regularized and conceived successfully and delivered a healthy baby.
