Title

TEACHING COMPETENCY AND PROFESSIONAL ADJUSTMENT OF HIGHER SECONDARY TEACHERS IN EDUCATION 5.0 TOWARDS CAREER RESILIENCE

Abstract

The shift to Education 5.0 has brought transformative changes to teaching practices, emphasizing the need for higher secondary teachers to develop new competencies to navigate this evolving landscape. This paper discusses the teaching competency and professional adjustment of higher secondary teachers in the context of Education 5.0 and its relationship with career resilience. Education 5.0 focuses on integrating advanced technology, personalized learning, and a more holistic approach to teaching. This paper aims to highlight how teachers adapt to these innovations and how their teaching competencies impact their ability to remain resilient in their careers amidst rapid changes in educational environments. The paper concludes that many teachers demonstrate a willingness to adapt to Education 5.0, gaps in technological training and professional development hinder their full potential. Career resilience is strongly influenced by teachers’ ability to cultivate flexible teaching practices and emotional resilience. Hence, recommendations for policy-makers and educational leaders to prioritize comprehensive professional development programs, fostering an environment that supports teachers in embracing change and sustaining long-term career success are highlighted.
