Abstract: Milk has been a vital part of human diets for generations, offering significant nutritional and health benefits. Karnataka plays a crucial role in India's dairy industry, emerging as one of the largest contributors. In 2023, India’s milk production was estimated at 230.30 million tonnes. The country surpasses the national average in per capita milk availability, reaching 483 grams per day in 2022–23 compared to the Indian average of 459 grams. Karnataka has established itself as a dominant state in the dairy sector, with impressive growth in milk production, rising from 7.9 million tonnes in 2018–19 to 12.83 million tonnes in 2022–23. Notably, Belagavi district leads as the largest milk producer in the state. This remarkable growth underscores Karnataka's pivotal role in strengthening India's position in the global dairy industry.
