As Artificial Intelligence (AI) continues to transform economies and industries, the need for a skilled workforce becomes increasingly critical. The paper discusses the role of public-private partnerships in enhancing AI skill initiatives in India, highlighting the importance of collaboration among educational institutions, industries, and government bodies to create a robust AI ecosystem. The paper highlights the potential of AI to improve public services, personalize healthcare, and drive economic growth in India, but also identifies challenges like income inequality and a disconnect between industry and academia. The authors propose a strategic framework for skill development, including policy initiatives to bridge gaps in AI education and training. They call for rigorous academic research to inform socially relevant AI initiatives and manage ethical concerns associated with AI deployment. The findings emphasize the need for a coordinated effort to harness AI's potential in India, ensuring the workforce is adequately prepared to navigate the challenges and opportunities presented by the AI revolution.
