Abstract
This comprehensive study investigates the New Life Solution, a private rehabilitation centre for alcohol and drug addicts located in Lilong Municipal Council, Thoubal District, Manipur, addressing the pressing issue of substance abuse in the region, which has severe social and health implications. The study aims to evaluate the centre’s effectiveness in aiding recovery, exploring various rehabilitation strategies employed, such as individualized treatment plans, counselling, and community support integration. Utilizing a mixed-methods approach, data is gathered through surveys and interviews with clients, staff, and their families to assess treatment outcomes and identify challenges faced during the recovery process. The findings reveal a significant reduction in substance use among participants, highlighting the centre’s holistic approach, which includes not only medical interventions but also psychological and social support. Ultimately, this study aims to provide actionable recommendations for improving rehabilitation services and influencing positively the broader understanding of addiction treatment in Manipur, contributing valuable insights to the field of substance abuse care. Alcohol and drug use among all age group are growing concern in Lilong Municipal Council, Thoubal District, Manipur, with significant social, psychological, and health implications and it explores the factors influencing substance use, including peer pressure, family environment, and socio-economic conditions. Using qualitative and quantitative methods, data was collected through surveys, interviews, and case studies. Findings indicate a rising trend in adolescent substance use, Rehabilitation Private Centre, New Life Solution in Lilong Municipal Council, Manipur leading to adverse educational and behavioural outcomes. The study highlights the urgent need for community-based interventions and policy measures to curb this issue.
