ABSTRACT: The identification of natural materials as promising active ingredients against a range of ailments became the primary goal of research on medicinal plants. Medicinal plants are fascinating plants with a wide range of biological activity and the capacity to form amazing chemical structures. The significant medicinal plant Biophytum sensitivum has a variety of secondary metabolites. B. sensitivum was chosen for the current investigation due to its significance in medicine. The 15g of leaves powder was extracted using distilled water and ethanol in turn over the course of two to seven days utilizing a cold maceration extraction method. High Performance Thin Layer Chromatography (HPTLC) was carried out to measure the impact of the extraction solvents on the phytochemicals extracted from the leaves. Solvent systems (mobile phase); Petroleum ether: ethanol: water 10:1.6:0.5(v/v/v) was found to be the most satisfactory solvent system. This result was consistent in cold extraction method. To explore the phytoprofile of various extracts of B. sensitivum FT-IR were also analysed.
