A Comprehensive Literature Review on Leveraging Six Sigma Tools for Quality Enhancement
Abstract
Abstract: Indian industries face significant quality problems including high defect rates and inefficiencies. Dimensional inaccuracies, poor surface finish and tool marks are common machining defects in small scale manufacturing industries. These defects stem from several factors such as improper machining parameters, machine condition, tool condition, quality of measurement system and material quality. Implementing six sigma can address these issues by emphasizing process improvement and defect reduction. This Paper presents comprehensive review of work pertaining to process improvement techniques using six sigma tools for quality improvement and defect minimization in machining.
