Title

Development of Scheduling Algorithms for Cloud Computing Workflow Management Based on Metaheuristics

Abstract

Two of the most important problems in cloud computing include resource provisioning & workflow scheduling. Because the heterogeneous cloud environment is NP-complete, creating an ideal workflow scheduling technique is quite challenging. It seems that there is no model which can simultaneously reduce execution time as well as costs while balancing the load between virtual machines in a heterogeneous environment via the JAYA method. Instead, other optimisation algorithms are employed to plan the workflow to ensure users can get Quality of Service (QoS) to cloud service providers and service providers can accomplish maximum gain. In order to reduce the calculation cost as well as completion time in workflow scheduling, we used a hybrid JAYA algorithm in this paper. We tried to divide the load across the virtual machines equally while taking into account the heterogeneous cloud computing environment. We used the Predict Earliest Finish Time (PEFT) and Task Duplication Heterogeneous Earliest Finish Time (HEFT-TD) to accomplish our objectives. Depending upon the Optimistic Cost Table, HEFT-TD significantly reduces the makespan. Within a heterogeneous environment, we divided the workload across Virtual Machines (VMs) using a greedy strategy. A VM with the lowest load is given the future job in a greedy manner. To accomplish our goals in our suggested model, we also took into account the virtual machines' boot time, termination delay, along with performance fluctuation.
