Title

A STUDY OF SELF- MONITORING IN CONTEXT OF DIGITAL COMPETENCE OF B.ED STUDENT –TEACHERS

Abstract

A comparative analysis of self-monitoring among B.Ed students was conducted. Prospective teachers in the second year of the B.Ed program at the colleges of education affiliated by CCS University Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, chosen the population. In order to accomplish the goals of the study, the researcher used the survey approach in this one. Amit Abraham and Priyanka Neeta (2013) standardized "Samvaidna's Self-Monitoring scale," which is used to measure it in this study. Using the stratified random sample technique, the researcher chosen 200 second-year B.Ed students. To investigate how the groups differed in their self-monitoring, a two-sample t-test was used. A statistically significant difference was found in the results, and an extremely significant result was shown by a two-tailed P-value of less than 0.0001. According to these results, girls are far more digitally competent than boys when it comes to self-monitoring. The study's conclusions highlight the necessity of focused interventions aimed at improving student-teachers' technology proficiency. The research shows that B.Ed. students who use self-monitoring feel more confident in their digital competence teaching and their interactions with students change positively. Therefore, self-monitoring should be included as an essential skill in the training of B.Ed. students, so that they can become efficient and effectiveteachers.
