Title

Vaccine Regulations in India

Abstract

Vaccine development usually takes around [ 7 years to 20 years ] to come to the market after getting necessaryregulatoryapprovals.ButrecentpendemicslikeEbola,SwineFlu&Covidhaveresultedinthe collaboration of efforts between the governments doing investments in vaccine development, academia , regulatory bodies , and industry . This has shortened the timelines for approval for vaccines . In2009,HINI,Swinefluvaccinestook93dayforidentifyingthevaccinecandidateforclinical trials. In2014,forEbolavaccine,itwasdeployedwhiletheepidemicwasstillgoingon.Ebola vaccine was developed in 5 years. IncaseofCovid(SARS-CoV-2)2020clinicaltrialswereapprovedwhen2monthsofthe pandemiconset.Withinatimeof9monthsabout138vaccinecandidatesarebeingreviewed for approval of EUA.
